Ever hear of an Orson Welles film called 'F for Fake'? If not then may I suggest that you see it. It deals with forgery and people's perceptions what is real or genuine based off of what they are told. Part of the film surrounds Clifford Irving, the man who wrote the supposed autobiography of the notorious recluse, Howard Hughes. Also and more interestingly it tells the story of the most famous art forger of our time, Elmyr de Hory. Just watch it, Criterion Collection released an edition of it last year I think. Elmyr is one of my favorite artists and he teaches that you should never believe what the "experts" tell you is true...
oh and gigantor props to the homie lil' Elmyr for pulling off this Fakesy on Ebaybay...
