Born of the Abyss represents a break from Buff Monster’s public (and usually illegal) work, and reflects new themes, mediums, and directions. The show will include framed and unframed paintings on paper and wood panels. Inspired and influenced by typography, Christian demonology, heavy metal music, and Japanese monster toys, recurring elements will include geometric patterns and katakana, as well as a new character that he calls Demon Seed. These pieces will be complemented with a limited edition of hand-painted kaiju figures.
